Customers love the extra sweetness of the yoghurt coating with the real mango that they know. They love the way the yoghurt coating goes so well together with the mango – who doesn’t love mango and yoghurt?!
Where do we source our mango from?
Mango is sourced directly from the growers. The majority is from all over Queensland (including our own farm) but sometimes we get some fruit from a grower in the Northern Territory.
All the growers are fantastic farmers and we appreciate all their efforts. The fruit we receive is always perfect fruit in our eyes but it is often the fruit that is misshapen, has tree rub marks, is too small or too big.
This is the fruit that has no home to go to as markets or the big retailers think they are not good enough, but we give them a different life (and minimise food waste!) instead of being dumped by turning them into a gorgeous and delicious treat that everyone loves.
What yoghurt do we use?
We use yoghurt buttons that are a special blend made by an Australian company in South Australia.
How does the yoghurt coating process work?
We have a chocolate machine that melts the yoghurt buttons and pours over a belt. The dried mango goes on the belt and gets coated by the yoghurt. Everything is made in a separate factory to the dried fruit factory so that there is no crossover between the yoghurt and any other dried fruits that are being processed.
